Award-winning food journalist and podcaster Gilly Smith has been writing about food since the early 1990s.
She was an early adopter in British food podcasting. She won The Guild of Food Writers Best Podcast/Broadcast Award in 2022 for Cooking the Books with Gilly Smith, and was nominated for a Fortnum and Mason award in 2022 for the same podcast. She is the producer and presenter of Cooking the Books, The Food Foundation podcast which won the Guild of Food Writer’s Investigative Food Work award in 2021, the delicious. Podcast, Leon’s How to Eat to Save the Planet and The Write Songs.
Initially a radio and TV producer, she has written seventeen books including Taste and the TV Chef which won Best UK Food Writing in the Gourmand Awards 2020 and The International Impact Book Awards in 2021.
