Judging Process

All entered products are evaluated by expert judges drawn from a range of disciplines in the fmcg fields.

  • The judging of the food, drink and packaging categories will be held on 24th, 25th, 26th July. The food and drink categories are judged and scored based on a rigorous 10-point criteria ranging from taste to product innovation.

  • The judging of the non-food product categories (baby/infant care, household, personal care) are judged in home by a selection of expert judges across the course of the beginning of July.  Non food products are judged and scored based on a rigorous 9-point criteria ranging from value for money to product innovation.

If you wish for your product to be judged by an entirely vegan panel please submit into Free From or Plant Based category. For example: Vegan cheese has the choice to enter ‘cheese’ or ‘free from or plant based’. By entering ‘free from or plant based’ it will be judged by an entirely vegan panel. If entered into 'Cheese' the product will be judged by experts who may or may not be vegan.

Following the judging, a shortlist is drawn from which medals (gold, silver or bronze) will be awarded in each category at an awards lunch on Friday 8th November.

The event will recognise every shortlisted entry's excellence, awarding a gold, silver or bronze medal in recognition of efforts to bring excitement and difference to grocery aisles.
