Judging Process

All entered products are evaluated by expert judges drawn from a range of disciplines in the fmcg fields.

The judging of the food and drink products  will be held from 14th-17th July.
The food and drink categories are judged by a panel of up to 8 experts form varied fields in food and drink. They are scored based on a rigorous 10-point criteria ranging from taste, smell and texture to product innovation.

The judging of the household and personal care products will be undertaken by a Consumer Research company . It will be judged in two phases.

  • Phase 1 : multiple Central Location Tests sees 30 consumers per product evaluate each entrant against the criteria that matter most: metrics include standout packaging and functionality, clarity of on pack information, appearance, aroma, texture, value for money, targeting effectiveness, overall execution and crucially, innovativeness. Test protocols are tailored to each category to ensure products are assessed as intended. Scores are analysed to identify the strongest contenders.
  • Phase 2 takes the top performers into immersive focus groups. Expert moderators guide consumers through functional, sensory and emotional reactions, including ASMR style filming to capture “social first” appeal. Structured ranking exercises determine Gold, Silver and Bronze placements with clear, consumer backed justification. All entrants receive raw data for every product.

After all categories have been judged, a shortlist will be created and published in August. From this shortlist, gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded. The medal winners, along with the Category Champion for each category, will be announced at the awards lunch on Friday 16 October .
