James Howat has worked in the food industry for over 30 years, initially as a chef and then, after gaining a degree in Food Science at Manchester Metropolitan University, within food manufacturing and food retail. Initially working in meal solutions and sandwich manufacture, he developed his bakery skills working under a highly skill master baker mentor. He has a passion for all things bakery, has enjoyed working in cake, bread and morning good categories and loves developing sourdough breads and looking for new products and advanced processes to give the customer the best quality eating experience.
